Treats for the Strange

Welcome to Treats for the Strange. I update erratically, whenever I feel the need to share something in my very pansexual collection.

Butchness/selfness

I used to hate the word butch.

When I was younger, it was always such a taunt. As I've posted before, I was often teased for being masculine and as I'd been brought up with society's views of how little girls should think, act and look, I thought being masculine - being butch- was an awful thing.

I also rebelled at being feminine. I hated wearing dresses, I refused to shave my legs for a long time and whenever we played pretend, I was a boy.

When I got to be about 21 or so, I began to come to terms with my butchness. I was getting fatter, I had my head half shaved and I really, really loved being male to my partner. I don't present as male most of the time. It's not something I'm ready to do. But if I couldn't be my masculine, butch self with my boy, I doubt I'd be as sane as I am. I've been a boy in my relationships since I was sixteen, which is part of the reason I started dating girls. None of the boys I was interested in understood that, but girls, especially 16 year old bi or curious ones, tended not to care what gender I presented as in private.

Still, I've only just started to realize how much my image of myself is of this butch person. When my hair was long, I was pretty. And I appreciated it. But it felt like I was appreciating someone else. 'Oh, she's pretty. Definitely not me, but pretty,' was about all I felt about it.

Now that my hair is buzzed on the sides again, I feel so much more at home. Which is an odd feeling. Apparently I need to be able to see my scalp in order to feel like myself.

I would be sad if I were not the fat, butch, hairy, half-shaved head person that I am.

Fuck labels, really. I'm a lot of things. Several of them are contradictions. That's okay. I'm me.

Worshipful

He looks so happy cuddled up to her cock. Gotta love that expression. And I like that he doesn't look afraid, that he isn't a young twink and that he seems completely at peace. A lot of people find submission to put them in an almost meditative place. I wish there was more of that.

She has a very nice body, and though she might be a model, she's also very human, which I can't always say about bdsm models. She has circles under her eyes, her hair is a bit wild, she's looking down at the camera with an expression somewhere in between a smile and a glare.

Above all, I love that they're both naked (as far as we can tell). No fetwear on either of them (I don't count strap-ons as fetwear, that's like calling a penis fetwear). When I play, generally I wear nothing or I wear pants and boots, depending on the scene. I've never understood the appeal of corsets if there is going to be actual play. Yes, they're beautiful, yes I really appreciate seeing people in them, but playing with a bottom who's wearing one is like playing with half the bottom, since hitting them over their corset is not going to happen. And being a top wearing a corset... bad idea! Less mobility, not very comfortable. You know all the advice we were given as kids about dressing for field trips? Get a good sleep, eat a good breakfast and dress comfortably? Those all apply to play, especially the last one.

Great photo from Strap on Slaves.

the pound

Photo from i honor her.

Photo from farmd0g.

Going to the pound is always sad. I always want to take them all home with me.

Heh, the top photo is like... a high class pet breeder. The bottom is a sketchy place in some basement where most of the pets were abducted.

Solly

More art from me... heh. TF2 won't leave me alone. Must... draw... more! Sorry about the photo of arts, I will resubmit when I have a scanner again.

The best part about this picture is that if I show it to my boy, he'll start singing 'Solly's butt bomb' to the tune of Winter Wrap-up from My little Pony, Friendship is Magic.

...I have the best boy in the world.

just your everyday visit

I found this picture on Red Rump, but it's originally from nu-westleda.

I get so much joy from seeing people caning whilst wearing sweaters! Is that strange? :D

symmetry of skin

Dear Hikari Kesho,

Your beautiful photos make me happy. Especially the fat-positive ones.

Supermodels and Tulips

So, what do supermodels and tulips have in common? Less and less. But...

I'm reading Michael Pollan's fantastic book The Botany of Desire (I find it really sad that this is the first thing that pops up when I Google 'botany'. Yes, it's a great book, but it's not "Botany"! And that most of what came up was about the show, which, again, I was happy to find out
about, but...), where he talks about beauty, in nature and our subconscious, correlating to health: symmetry, size, colour, etc. The healthier something (a plant, animal, human) is, the more beautiful we perceive it to be.

There are, of course, exceptions. Like the tulip. During the 17th century Dutch tulipomania (great word, that. It's reading as a typo, of course, but it's a real word), the most prized flowers were 'broken'--they had a contrasting patch of colour on each petal. People noticed that these flowers had fewer bulblets (I don't remember the actual word and don't feel like looking it up) making them even more valuable, but they had no idea why until the invention of the microscope. That's right. The beautiful pattern was caused by a virus that weakened and eventually killed the flower, so now any tulip that emerges showing the broken pattern...is killed. We don't have them anymore. Beauty doesn't always mean health, especially with people. (Another wonderful example that Pollan doesn't mention is the 19th century vogue for looking consumptive. Logically, it makes no sense: people with consumption are not healthy [or particularly beautiful] but, for a time, it was beauty).

Which, of course, brings me to our own whacky time, and the reason I made the link in my sleepy brain last night. Illixim is beautiful. Like, freaking gorgeous. And built like Henry VIII, like a good, proper, round nobleman. None of this scrawny, peasanty shit. She's round and healthy and...fertile? ...that's just creepy. Anyway. But now, of course, our ideal has shifted. "She's not healthy. She's fat."* Well, how does the exact same person, shifted across a few centuries, become a completely different state of being, a totally different ideal? If most of our current ideal people were moved back in time, and had the privilege of being noble, everyone would be trying to fatten the poor dying things up! (they also would have laughed their asses off at body builders. Muscle meant you worked.)

Can't we find a happy medium, where we can move past our biology (or worse, culture) and realize that weight and health and beauty are subjective, if they're even very interconnected? My philosophy about weight (and no, I don't always remember this when I have to go buy new pants) is this: as long as you can do what you need to and you want to in your life, then be whatever weight you are. If you find that your weight is interfering with something you want to do (or muscle, or endurance, or whatever), then change it. If not, why not? Why let an arbitrary, and obviously fluctuating ideal influence your life?

(lol, I feel kind of bad for always posting long, boring rants. Illixim's the fun one. "Here, look at sexy, naked pictures. Don't mind my wife's ranting, here, pretty pretty!" Although, c'mon, that painting of Henry the Eighth is damn sexy. I'll give you a random oddity: if you scroll down to the bottom,

a wonderful foot rest

From Not Jes.

Her ass! Abuh... so lovely. Also, ballet splints and objectification? Purr.

Skin

Picture from Arkandia.

So, I really love opposites. I really love soft, creamy, hairless pale skin. I also like bristly, bearded, rough, scarred, dark skin. I like to mix those things into the same people too. People with beautiful skin marred with a scar become infinitely sexier to me. Rough and tumble bearded folk with soft hands... rawr.

From The Lair.

I think I also just love skin. When I was younger I had issues with the human body (mostly mine), and it's taken me a long time to realize this, but I love skin. I love soft skin and rough skin and scarred skin and untouched skin and hairy skin and naked skin and goose-pimpled skin and tattooed skin and freckled skin. I love stretch marks and bruises and scars. I love the intimate skin of someone's neck or thigh and the every day skin covering our fingers. I love the whorls and patterns of our skin and hair and most of all, I love when people love their bodies.

I wish I loved my body all the time. I'm getting there. I never would have felt sexy being such a round person before. I had a hatred of my body growing up, stemming from my mom, who hated her body and often got me to join her in an attempt to 'change for the better'. I walk more than I ever did then. And I enjoy it. I'm overweight, fat and I think my stretch-marked belly is fucking awesome. My horribly female breasts are another matter, but when I wear my chest binder I have the sweetest chubby boy chest. I love it.

From Gender Bender.

Aaand I didn't mean to write so much. I'm off to sleep.

Fisting

Fisting. Is. Awesome.

If you've never tried it, I don't think I can describe it. I really enjoy being on the receiving end and recently on the other end of it too. Sex is all well and good, but fisting is so much further. It's right at the edge of pain, but when it's good, it's amazing.

I love the people in this picture. Rawr.

I found this at Sex is not the Enemy.

Pendulum

Ohhhh...

That's pretty wonderful. A pendulum of hot wax? It's like water torture... drip... drip... drip. Only much better.

We bought cookie cutters today and I immediately thought of using wax with them, dripping it into the cookie cutter on my boy's skin, then removing the cutter and leaving the hot wax in a cute shape.

Sadistic ideas are even more fun when they're also adorable and cute.

Wonderful image from Rope-topia. Check them out!

blindfold

A beautiful picture of a blindfolded woman in nothing but a skirt from the very talented Savannah Horrocks.

whip bondage

Cute. :) Not sure if it's good for the braided whip... but cute nonetheless.

From Synful Dame.

Round

A beautiful photo of a woman bound to a round wooden platform, wearing a chest harness, ankle and wrist bondage and nothing else. I've fallen in love with Hikari Kesho's photography and his models. It's so wonderful to see models of all shapes and sizes in pictures from the same photographer. I've found that it's more common that they photograph one body type.

holding his mirror

A lovely objectification from interesting-thingz. I love boys holding the mirror for their sirs. Especially since he's not meeting his sir's eyes. Lovely furniture.

a pair in ropes

Yay for Ben Marcato. I love seeing different body shapes in erotic and bdsm photography. Also, two girls tied to the same pole? Awesome. I don't think I've seen that before.

Kitty

Rawr. I usually don't go for the whole kitty-girl thing, but I couldn't help myself! Cute pet, great eye makeup and my goodness, look at that cleavage!
