Identity
"In my dreams, I have a dick. Not in all of them, only in the good ones. Not just for a day, but for always.
"The first time I dreamed of having a dick, I was seven. I was standing in the bathroom wearing a pair of big white boxer shorts, and attached to my body was a new organ filled with wonderful sensation. The sensuality of the dream was marred only slightly by the fact that I was Tom Bosley of Happy Days.
"I've always known I was queer, but saying 'I'm not a lesbian, I'm a gay man in a female body' doesn't help matters a great deal in high school, so I stayed home nights dreaming, and eventually writing, about the torrid sex lives of gay boys. In 1995, Kate Bornstein's book Gender Outlaw finally clued me in to the liberating term 'non-operative transsexual.'
"A dick for a day? I would spend the day worshiping it, as dick possessors tend to do, and letting it do the thinking, as dicks will. I would give it over to the mouths and hands and assholes of as many tantalizing men as I could get my hands on. I would be the worst nelly slut you ever saw. And, for once in my life, I would mourn the coming of night."
It really clicked for me, because that's exactly how I feel; like I can be a lesbian and only sleep with women, but still be a gay man in my head, and enjoy gay erotica much more than lesbian, etc. I don't have to be limited by my body, or anyone else's rules but my own when it comes to sex. I read somewhere recently, I don't remember where (it was probably Dick for a Day) that the mind has no sex. By sex, they mean gender, although it's funny the other way, but it's still profoundly true: in our heads, we create the way we look. It's like those movies where people die/go into a computer/whatever and they look different, because they don't look the way they do in a mirror, they look the way they do in their heads. So I can be a woman with a cock, or a man with breasts, or neither, or both, or one or the other, and any and all of them are perfectly natural and no one in my head looks twice.
Which brings me back to the gay bottom thing. Among my circle of friends, it's become sort of a gentle, teasing joke, especially that they all knew before I did. But, on a very physical level, it's how I have sex: I suck, I fuck when asked to, I touch, I get jerked off, I cum, I am fucked up the ass, I'm sounded. This has to effect me somehow, having my vagina basically be a wound that I carry that doesn't heal. Would I stitch it up, if I could, and just leave the bits behind that I actually use, like it was some sort of appendix that I've out-evolved? I used the analogy (I love analogies) with Strange today of those fish that live in caves, that eventually no longer have eyes. Would I? I don't know. But for now, I'm glad to have come to these realizations, and have it be ok, at least with the people who know me.
Now, as for actually interacting with gay men...that's another story. While I have my 'Top 10 I Would Fuck If I Were A Man" list, actually carrying it out is unlikely. To reverse it: if a man approached me and said, "I'm a non-operative transexual. I have a phantom vagina." I would be...uncomfortable. I certainly wouldn't want to have the same effect on a gay man, that's the last thing I would want. But maybe at some point we'll actually meet some gay men, and I'll get to know them well enough to be able to tell them how I am, and then we can swap stories or whatever.
But until then, Strange is really all I need. Anything else would just be gravy.
Stretch!

Sounding or urethral sounding is the medical use of probes called sounds to increase the inner diameter of the urethra and to locate obstructions in it. Sounds are also used to stretch the urethra in order to receive piercing.
Urethral sounding and urethral play are also used to refer to this practice in a sexual context.
Urethral play can involve the introduction of either soft or rigid items into the meatus of the penis (as well as farther in). Objects such as sounds are usually only inserted about halfway into the glans and can usually be easily retrieved. Other toys and items, such as catheters, may be introduced deeper (in some cases even into the bladder). Some items may even be allowed to curl several times or expand within the bladder. This action in the male may be directly or indirectly associated with stimulation of the prostate gland and some types of bladder control.
Here's a woman getting sounded. It looks kind of funny, like it's just sprouting out of nowhere.
And here's a man about to get sounded. It's all medical and everything. Despite the vibrating sound (which I've heard are really bad for you.)
So. Sounding. I was really curious about sounds when I first heard about them...I don't remember how. Probably looking around at sex toy websites. Anyway. I was originally curious about using them on Strange. Because I dislike things going into my cooch so much, I figured that sounding would be about the same. I think I may have used my pinkie or something on Strange a few times before we got our set of sounds (which looks like the one in the picture at the top), and she didn't enjoy it too much, but I still wanted to try. So we ordered some sounds. I tried them on Strange, and she still didn't like it all that much. I did some more reading, and learned that they're for stretching the urethra. This made something click in my head, somehow. We also discovered that the trick with sounds is to NOT push them. At all. Once you have the tip in, just let gravity do its job and let the sound slide down the urethra. Pushing will just hurt; gravity will follow the curves naturally and without pain.
Now, there is a lot of information out there about how dangerous sounds can be, and I don't disagree. I've had bladder infections (not from sounding) and they massively suck. I can only imagine that things get exponentially worse from there as surgery and things get involved, never mind the shame factor. But I'm not going to get into sounding safety here. You can always look it up on your own.
I'm going to talk about how it feels. And it feels good. The first few times, of course, can have some ouchness as you get used to getting the sound in properly and things like that. A friend of ours mentioned that he likes sounding, but that it always burns when he pees for a few days. I seem to remember this the first few times, but it doesn't happen for me anymore, even when I go a long time between soundings. Now, the most I seem to get is a pleasant kind of pressure down there--kind of a mild ache, that doesn't really hurt, just reminds.
Sounding's not something I'd do every day, or even every week. But oh man. The feeling of being diddled with something in your bladder and your ass...now that's ownership. That's fullness. Even the sound alone is an amazing feeling, and it really requires you to let go, relax, and just be aware and go with it. It's like the next step after anal, for me, anyway.
A speculum (Latin for "mirror")
(plural specula or speculums) is a medical tool for investigating body cavities, with a form dependent on the body cavity for which it is designed.
Vaginal and anal specula are also sometimes used as sex toys, but this is uncommon.
That's too bad that it's apparently "uncommon", because speculums feel fucking great, as well. Another toy that I love that I don't play with often enough. Again, it's not something I would want to do every day, but it's definitely wonderful from time to time. A great toy for any medical scene (and everyone needs more of those), or just for shits and giggles--I guarantee both.
Something I really like about speculums is that they can be used to stretch an orifice, which I enjoy the feeling and thought of, but you have more control over the expansion than, say, an inflatable toy. Inflatable toys go from size to size in big jumps, and sometimes the interval is too much, so it hurts. Speculums, however, can be adjusted in very small, controlled increments.

Another thing I love about them (once you've removed the third prong as mentioned above) is that there's a tempting space between the prongs where flesh is revealed. Just the right size for a finger. This feels amazing. I'm not sure about a guy, but I know for me, this offers perfect access to my girlstate (like a prostate. Maybe I should call it negstate?), so it feels heavenly.
