Coming back

Though I'm sure the character here did not consent to the beating he received, I like to imagine that it was consensual. That the scene went well, better and worse than intended in some ways, and that afterwards he cried and bled while his partner cleaned up, got them water, whatever they do for aftercare. Maybe when he was done, his partner came back and held him, maybe they cried together. The way emotional scenes end is always the hardest. How do you come back from that? From being afraid or causing fear, from hurting and causing hurt, from fighting and struggling and crying?

I suppose some scenes you can never fully come back from.
