Treats for the Strange
Welcome to Treats for the Strange. I update erratically, whenever I feel the need to share something in my very pansexual collection.
Treats for the Strange is for anyone with a love of sexuality, art and kink.
Welcome.
portrayal in art
Some art by men for men. It's funny, looking at the way people identify depending on how they seem themselves. In art, gay men tend toward the muscular, be they submissive or dominant. And they're almost always naked.
In art, straight submissive men are almost always nude or mostly nude, usually trim or young looking, but the straight dominant men in art can be any shape or size, but generally are only naked if they're going to be penetrating their sub. I've seen big and small, but almost no short ones.
With women, when they're gay, they're generally portrayed as butch or femme. Either end of the spectrum can be dominant, but if it's a butch/femme couple, I'll go out on a limb and say the butch will usually be in charge. We're still talking art here, not real people. With straight women in art, the submissive women are usually smaller than their partners, well endowed, the ideal woman sort of idea. With dominant straight women, they're usually very tall, the same sort of ideal woman, but amazon. Or, though less commonly, very large, for those with face-sitting fetishes for the most part.
I don't think I've ever seen art of an overweight submissive straight female. The only time I see differently shaped straight male submissives is when they're being humiliated by their (usually) female dominant. Actually, to be honest, I've never seen art of a gay couple doing humiliation play. Obviously the population tends towards heterosexuality and therefore I have a much wider range of heterosexual art to pick from. But it's still pretty fascinating.
The trends are interesting to look at. It shows us how some of a large group of people see themselves and their partners.

Affection
I love how tender and protective this picture is. I'm not sure if this is pet play, age play, M/s, whatever. That's kind of what I like about it. He can be tender and she can be soft and delicate and in need of love and care, no matter what roles they take, no matter who they are.

Slave bells
More of our personal pictures. This is my wife showing off her bells. I got the idea that she should dance for me while wearing bells, but instead of having them tied around her, I decided to sew them under her skin. The last shot is probably one of the best I have of how the bells were attached. I want to do this sort of scene again soon.
bondage painting
I love his sketches and his finished work. He has a great sense of people and movement. I'd love to have this hanging on my wall.

tubes and straps
I'll admit to having a bit of a medical fetish. Also, the very tight bands are sexy. The artist did a good job with this one.

professional 'dominance'
Right now I'm going to write about a certain kind of 'BDSM' art. Art of femdommes that was created as a fantasy by or for male subs who want a dominatrix, rather than a dominant woman. The way they portray the 'dominant' woman is ridiculous. Look at the pose of this woman here, bending over this piece of equipment and the submissive man. She's wearing heels, which I've already expressed my opinion about, wearing all sorts of pretty lingerie and basically offering herself to the viewer.
From the look of it, she hasn't struck the man (at least not hard) since there are no marks on him. He's tied up and she's touching his cock. His cock being the only part of the submissive that is important to the art. Also, the art isn't the best. Her face is a weird pale color that doesn't match her body.
But really, this is a picture of a man topping from the bottom. He wants this scene, this is what he gets. This kind of art only really portrays prodommes.

sash and rope
I have such a hard-on for this picture. It hits so many of my buttons. The great pose, the interesting bondage, the head bowed, the partial undress, the long hair kept back in a ribbon... I'll just be drooling in the corner.

living art
If I was rich, I would have a manor with living human art in every room. People posing on pillars always makes me hot.
Also, I love her curves.

Bronze submission
Some female submission sculptures from Leigh Heppell. She has some interesting work and I'm actually fairly interested by the style she sculpts her people with. It's round and curved, but still almost sharp and angled. The light shows more the angles, but the figure is quite curved.
It's nice to see some submission in sculpture.
Heels
This picture here is exactly my view of high-heeled shoes.
I believe that they are meant to objectify and force submission upon those who wear them. I believe they're a great device for forcing submissives to be careful how they walk and where they step, especially in heels as severe as ballet boots. It's the same as forcing a submissive to wear spreader bars as they walk about, or keeping them otherwise bound.
I have no problem with high heels. I enjoy both objectification and the objectification of men in a typically female accessory. What I don't enjoy is the idea that heels and other typically female clothing make those who wear them more submissive. Gender, gender-identity and clothes do not a dominant or submissive make.
However, just to contradict myself, I've also never understood the ideal female dominant wearing high heels. Perhaps it's just to be taller.
I think I've internalized the male domination/female submission of the world and it frustrates me. I hate the idea that men feel they ought to crossdress so they can be humiliated as women, but I love the idea of women dressed as men in order to dominate.
Sigh.

human fruit platter
A boy is bound, face and shoulders on the ground, ass in the air, holding a fruit platter on his ass. Ah, creative objectification. How could I live without you?
photos from home
I'm always happy to see photos that remind me of the ones my wife and I take, ones that are obviously taken during a scene at home, with little attention paid to the actual shot. Though the artistic merit of these photos is usually pretty low, they're a lot of fun to look at. I love how this couple rigged up the chains and the string attaching to the nipple clamps. Looks like fun.
dog face
This is from Blue Magic. I'm really quite impressed with this dog face-mask, the muzzle is actually dog-like, unlike so many I've seen, and the nose is great.

Feeding Time
So, a fun activity to do with one's master/mistress/top/dominant (and so on): have a bowl of small tidbits (we've used pistachios, grapes and mandarin orange segments so far), and feed them to your dominant other. A nice variant is using something like pistachios where you actually have to work to prepare them, and the dominant can just have the tasty food popped into their mouth without having to work for it. It's enjoyable for both people, on several levels: it shows submission, love and caring.
Le Cheval Erotique
I love how interesting some fetish art is. This, for example, reminds me of an old timey alcohol poster.

differences
I like that these photos are both very different and very similar. Beautiful rope bondage, lovely ladies and above the waist nudity in both of them. However, one is clearly a professional (or at least, much more posed) and the other seems to just be a snapshot of some great handiwork. Oddly enough, I like both of them pretty much equally. The top one is just kind of charming (and also she has cute underwear).
More
The top's expression is intense, as is the way he's holding himself above the bottom. I adore the way the bottom is holding the top's head to himself, encouraging him to (kiss? bite? suck?) more, but clearly not being terribly forceful. The bottom's expression is great too. And one has to wonder what's going on where we can't see.
paddled on a St Andrews Cross
Unfortunately I cannot make this image any larger without cutting it in half, but this is more lovely sketches from tarosan. I love the paddling, the posture of the woman/women at the cross, the position of the top who's holding the paddle... and the way everything is colored! Great work.

between pleasure and pain
The way I see it, we see far too much BDSM art and photos with facial expressions indicating fear, hatred or simply nothing. Though it's fine and yes, there are some great and sexy pictures with those emotions, I really do like to see happy, consensual BDSM as well. This picture is sort of right on the edge. He seems like he's almost in agony, but there's a blissfulness to his features as well.

happy birthday
Somebody's bottom has become a birthday cake! Great idea, good photos and pretty cool aftermath too.
