To serve, one doesn't need to be noticed. One has merely to fulfill a need or function. Such as an ashtray or footstool.

I enjoy watching quiet submission almost as much as I enjoy a morning of it with my own pet. Her being my foot rest or even simply rubbing or caressing me makes me happy.
